Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, paid a visit Wednesday to a University of Kansas classroom.

Student fears were minimal, however, as the legendary creature was manmade and needed lots of help getting around.

Kansas City filmmaker Dan Wayne brought the 8-foot monster from his documentary “Big Fur” to a class of KU instructor Jon Niccum that focuses on ethics and storytelling. Wayne’s doumentary is about the quest of World Champion Canadian taxidermist Ken Walker to create a Bigfoot replica. Niccum was a producer of the film along with Wayne, who also directed it.

“Big Fur,” which was screened at multiple film festivals in recent years, “is a biographical portrait of a funny, passionate — some would say obsessed — artist. It’s also an insider’s view of taxidermy, which is misunderstood even while it’s experiencing a renaissance in some unlikely places,” according to the film’s website, bigfurmovie.com, which has a link for viewing the film.
