Saturday

• The annual tradition of Souper Bowl: Buy a Bowl & Fill a Bowl returns from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St. This event dates back to 1996 as a way to showcase ceramics from local artists. This year, see more than 500 handmade bowls in a range of prices and get a free bowl of soup with every bowl purchased. All money raised goes toward visual arts education programs at the Arts Center.

• The Sunrise Project, 1501 Learnard Ave., will hold “LOVE GROWS HERE: Valentine’s Day Plants and Crafts Workshop” from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Participants will be decorating and customizing terra cotta pots and replanting small plant cuttings to create one-of-a-kind Valentine gifts. • The Crossroads Wind Symphony will perform a concert as part of KU’s Prairie Winds Festival 2022. The noon concert is free and open to the public at the Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Drive. The festival concludes with a ticketed evening concert at 7:30, featuring the KU Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble I and Prairie Winds Band, with special guest Hiram Diaz. Sunday

• The Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2120 Harper St., will host the 12th annual Santa Fe Trail Antique Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Flory Meeting Hall. Entry fee is $5. This year’s theme: bikes of the ’60s and ’70s. For additional info, see sftrail.org.

• The St. Patrick’s Day Parade committee will have its annual Bowling Tournament. Come to Royal Crest Lanes, 933 Iowa St., in all your St. Patrick’s Day garb, for 11 a.m. registration. Bowling starts at noon; all ages are welcome. Donation is $20 per player or $70 per team of four. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. • The chilly February weather brings out the chili-chef in lots of folks. The 2022 Chili Cookoff is slated for noon at Gaslight Gardens, 317 N. • There’s more music at KU this afternoon as Yi-Yang Chen, assistant professor of piano, gives his first faculty recital. The program will include music by Sergei Bortkiewicz, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Dimitri Shostakovich. The recital begins at 2:30 p.m. at Swarthout Recital Hall, 1530 Naismith Drive.
