The Budweiser Clydesdales took a few laps around the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Oct. 14, 2021. Several hundred people showed up at the fairgrounds to see the horses as part of an event to honor volunteers and first responders who helped with the community's pandemic response.

Several hundred people were at the Douglas County Fairgrounds on Thursday evening as the Budweiser Clydesdales trotted around the facility.

The famed team of horses and their beer wagon were in Lawrence as part of an event hosted by O’Malley Beverage. The Lawrence-based alcohol distributor was named one of the top wholesale distributors in the entire country by Budweiser’s parent company. As a reward, the Clydesdales are in town for multiple days this week, and O’Malley on Thursday hosted a viewing party at the fairgrounds for volunteers and first responders who helped with the community’s pandemic response.
