The City of Lawrence is hosting an open house regarding the future of the Lawrence Regional Airport and the Airport Master Plan.

The open house, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. April 3 at the Airport Terminal Building, 1930 Airport Road, will be an opportunity for community members to ask questions, review proposed development concepts and provide feedback on the development for the master plan.

Portions of the master plan will include potential infrastructure improvements that will support aviation activity over the next 20 years. The last open house that discussed the Airport Master Plan happened back in January 2024, as the Journal-World reported.

Although there won’t be a formal presentation, the city officials and project team members will be there to discuss the master plan and answer questions. Attendees will also have the chance to submit written comments on the proposed options.
