Former Ballard Center leader hired as interim executive director of HeadQuarters Kansas

HeadQuarters Kansas, a suicide prevention nonprofit based in Lawrence, on Thursday announced that the former head of the Ballard Center has been hired as the organization’s interim executive director.
Becky Price, who served as the Ballard Center’s CEO for seven years and retired from the position in August 2023, will assist HeadQuarters Kansas as its board of directors begins the search for a permanent executive director. The nonprofit’s previous leader, Steve Devore, resigned Jan. 26.
Along with her time at the Ballard Center, Price has also served in executive leadership positions with the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence and Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters.
