Letter: Journalists also guilty
To the editor:
There is much in Dolph Simons, Jr’s. most recent Saturday Column with which I strongly agree. We do live in a particularly uncivil, contentious, even toxic environment where honesty, integrity, and leadership seem to be decidedly lacking.
But it does seem to be a bit disingenuous and self-serving not include journalists on the long laundry list of those who either lie or “deliberately mislead the public,” particularly those journalist who have regular access to the editorial pages of local newspapers and other news outlets. Witness Bryan Williams and Bill O’Reilly, among others. What is that saying about the pot calling the kettle black?
