Lawrence High senior Jolona Shield signed a letter of intent to play softball at Cowley Community College on Tuesday.

Shield, a pitcher and designated hitter, earned first-team All-Sunflower League honors as a utility player last year, and was a second-team All-State selection.

She had a .484 batting average and 21 RBIs to go along with a 7-3 record in the circle and a 3.24 earned-run average.
