Letter: Another atrocity

To the editor:

I watched on HBO, a new Holocaust movie entitled “Night Will Fall” on Jan. 26. The producers claimed it contained new British and American footage, including Russian records and personal reports, of the German atrocities against the Jews. It was truly gruesome and is beyond description regarding the complete absence of caring for the life of others by the Germans. They lived normal wartime lives without even recognizing their inhuman natures.

On Jan. 22, I attended the Right to Life Rally in Topeka where Gov. Brownback spoke regarding similar defenseless lives and SB 95 entitled the “Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act” co-sponsored by 25 state senators. I know you can’t compare atrocities, but the American version of the Holocaust resulting in over 58 million deaths of the unborn is an ongoing testimony of our hardened hearts as a nation. We can grow accustomed to sin until it seems OK; that is, until someone brings us to an awareness of what we have done.

With the discovery of Nazi death camps, American military brought German locals to see what was going on in their back yards. Gen. Eisenhower brought government officials from America and allied nations to see the death camps. Perhaps we should require our pro-choice government leaders and others who support abortion to witness our death clinics?
