Letter: More balance

To the editor:

The Thanksgiving editorial message from the Journal-World appropriately challenges each of us to reflect upon the many ways in which we are blessed, individually and collectively. I applaud the message and, in particular, point to the statement which asks us to “consider how we can better practice the fairness, tolerance and compassion that should continue to define American society.”

I challenge the Journal-World to work toward a more balanced perspective on the editorial pages of our community’s newspaper. Ironically, for example, the smug self-congratulating words of George Will are on the same page with the call for tolerance and fairness. Perhaps tomorrow we will again be subjected to Mr. Krauthammer’s unending personal attacks aimed at the president of the United States. I fail to see how these writers provide anything other than increased polarization and division.
