Letter: Everyone’s rights
To the editor:
Here’s a thought for those of you moaning and protesting the recent Supreme Court decision protecting Hobby Lobby’s rights. Let’s suppose, just suppose, that same law had made it mandatory for every employer to supply each female employee with a gun (regardless of whether or not she even wanted one).
You, a conscientious employer, with no desire to regulate or infringe upon your employees’ private lives, might nonetheless feel morally shaken, aghast, forced to participate in something you feel could cause great harm. You might even feel that your own rights and beliefs were being violated.
And I would agree.
You see, this same Supreme Court ruling that safeguards Hobby Lobby’s freedom also defends yours and mine. Thank God.
Don’t forget, the safest, most effective birth control is absolutely free. Always has been.
