Bad-weather site for inauguration changes

? Kansas Gov.-elect Sam Brownback has revised his plan for moving his inauguration ceremony indoors in case of bad weather.

Brownback and other statewide elected officials are scheduled to be sworn in Monday on the south steps of the Statehouse. But the National Weather Service is forecasting a 90 percent chance of snow.

Brownback’s team initially chose a historic home near the Statehouse as the alternate bad-weather site.

But the team decided Friday evening to use the Kansas House chamber as the backup site if necessary. Spokeswoman Sherriene Jones-Sontag says the chamber can hold more people, and sound from the ceremony can be streamed over the Internet.

Jones-Sontag says a final call on moving the inaugural indoors will be made by 4 p.m. Sunday.
