Preliminary hearing set in teen’s death

? The man accused of killing a 14-year-old Kansas girl whose charred body was found at an asphalt plant faces a preliminary hearing Nov. 18.

A Barton County judge set the date Friday for 36-year-old resident Adam Joseph Longoria, suspected in last month’s killing of Alicia DeBolt. Longoria is charged with capital murder, criminal sodomy, vehicular theft and vehicular burglary.

Prosecutors will present their evidence at the preliminary hearing. The judge also scheduled an Oct. 21 hearing on motions.

Alicia left her Great Bend home the night of Aug. 21 to go to a party. Her burned body was found three days later behind gravel piles at the asphalt plant where Longoria worked.

Prosecutors have not said if they plan to seek the death penalty.
