One person was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with minor injuries after a two-vehicle accident Thursday evening near Ninth and Alabama streets.

Sgt. Matt Sarna, a Lawrence police spokesman, said the 9 p.m. accident occurred when a westbound vehicle turned left from Ninth Street onto Alabama Street in front of an eastbound vehicle. The vehicle headed east on Ninth Street then struck the turning vehicle.

An accident report was being finished Friday and further information was unavailable, Sarna said.
