Bond set for Lawrence man accused of attacking roommate with knife

A 54-year-old Lawrence man who is accused of attacking his roommate Tuesday night with a knife appeared in Douglas County District Court Wednesday.

Prosecutors have charged the man, Lawrence Jackson, with aggravated battery and making a criminal threat, after the incident in the 400 block of Michigan Street.

Police were called to the house about 9 p.m. Tuesday after two roommates got into an argument. Jackson is accused of using a razorlike blade to slash the victim, who was treated for his injuries at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Pro Tem Judge Jim George set Jackson’s bond at $10,000 and ordered him to appear back in court June 3.
