Greeley County passes liquor by the drink

A few provisional ballots counted Friday morning put Greeley County’s liquor-by-the-drink proposal over the top, after Tuesday’s count of regular ballots ended in a tie.

County Clerk Linda Firner said the final vote count was 345-341 in favor of the measure.

The result came after the Board of Canvassers determined Friday morning that seven submitted provisional ballots should be counted. One of the seven didn’t vote on the measure. Without the provisional ballots, the vote was 340-340.

Grant County residents also voted Tuesday on whether to allow liquor-by-the-drink sales. There, the issue passed
