Suspect still at large in Friday bank robbery

Lawrence police have not yet tracked down the man suspected of robbing Midwest Regional Credit Union on Friday morning.

Police said they had no further information to release Monday regarding the crime and weren’t able to release surveillance video or a photograph of the suspected robber.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, wearing jeans, a blue or gray hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses. Police say he’s 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-5, and had left the credit union on foot, headed south, carrying an undisclosed amount of money. A witness told authorities that a purple, four-door Chrysler may be involved.

No weapon was displayed during the robbery, which occurred at 10:18 a.m. at the credit union, 1015 W. Sixth St., located a few blocks west of downtown.
