2 bodies found after watercraft flip on Kaw

? Rescue workers have recovered two bodies after a major search for two men who went missing this weekend after their canoe and raft flipped in the Kansas River.

Josh Bryant, 25, of Topeka, was found Monday afternoon near the city’s forestry dump site, and a second body, whom police haven’t identified, was found Tuesday morning. The body has been taken to the Shawnee County Coroner’s Office.

The men were on the Kansas River with two other men late Sunday when their canoe and raft overturned. Fisherman heard cries for help and managed to rescue two of the men.

The names of the 30-year-old man still missing and the two rescued men, ages 26 and 27, were not immediately released.

Rescue workers used boats, a Topeka Police Department helicopter and troops on the ground to conduct the search.

The four men had started their trip in St. Marys.
