Hutchinson ? Lawrence High’s boys golf team trudged through a soggy day at the Hutchinson Invitational, shooting a team score of 335 and placing 27th out of 36 teams.

Levi Oxford had the Lions’ low score, firing an 81. Four LHS golfers broke 90, including Oxford, Austin Rueschhoff (83), Cameron Hershiser (85) and Connor Jones (86).

The tournament started two hours late because of lightning, and the rain didn’t let up for most of the day.

“Some of the kids adapted pretty well to it,” LHS coach Ron Commons said. “We still have room for improvement. Hopefully things will get better.”
