Bigger issue

To the editor:

I teach high school in one of Kansas’ urban school districts. Neither the “how we got here” theories nor the current arguments about them are helping my kids at all. I wish you folks with the super strong feelings about creation vs. evolution had the same level of concern for our children’s actual futures.

Whether they are divinely-sparked or accidental, our kids will either be happy taxpayers or unhappy tax-paid-fors, depending on the real education and inclinations they develop.

If you really care about your own kids, you might spend some energy making sure all kids acquire the skills and mindset to prosper instead of wasting it on petty arguments that mean nothing.
