Lawrence Police said Thursday that in the past 24 hours they handled:

¢ 251 calls

¢ 40 reports

¢ three thefts

¢ eight non-injury accidents

¢ two injury accidents

¢ A 24-year-old Lawrence man was booked into the Douglas County Jail on Thursday morning on a charge he violated Kansas’ offender-registration law.

Aaron M. Ross has been registered since February 2004 for a prior conviction for attempted aggravated indecent liberties with a child. His address is listed in jail records as 1728 Barker Street.

At least five people have been charged in recent months in Douglas County with failing to register as offenders.

Burglaries and thefts reported

¢ Two 21-year-old men living in the 600 block of Gateway Court reported $1,984 in property, including computer equipment and a video camera, stolen between Nov. 22 and Nov. 27.
