Good qualities

To the editor:

In his Sept. 17 column, George Will unfairly maligns John Kerry’s record as a senator. I don’t know why Kerry hasn’t brought it up himself, but he has a strong track record of fighting terrorism by demolishing the financial networks they use. Between 1988 and 1991, it was Kerry’s persistence and use of the Senate’s investigative resources that led to the revelation that the large and prestigious Bank of Credit and Commerce International was deeply involved in financing terrorism. That bank was shut down. Kerry showed he is smart and tenacious and effective: good qualities for a president.
