Speak the truth
To the editor:
Why won’t somebody come right out and say it in public? Why is everybody mincing words? Anybody that would forbid gay people the right to marry — or any other right that a citizen should have — is a bigot and should be dismissed as one by every red-blooded American who believes in the principles of freedom and justice that this country was supposedly founded on. Has the term “liberal” (a perfectly honorable designation and not an insult, notwithstanding some knee-jerk reactionaries’ efforts to the contrary) become so demonized that we are afraid to stand up and shout the truth when it is necessary?
