An Overland Park man was sentenced Tuesday to 3 1/2 years in prison for committing abuse that left his infant daughter with a fractured skill, lacerated liver and broken ribs.

Simardeep Singh Kainth, also known as Simardeep Singh, pleaded guilty in May to a felony count of aggravated battery.

Sentencing was in Johnson County District Court.

Kainth’s 6-month-old daughter suffered the injuries in late December 2002 and early January 2003.
