Not a liar

To the editor:

I was very disappointed in one of the comments in Gary Bedore’s commentary Sunday.

He stated that because Roy Williams changed his mind, Mr. Williams was branded a “liar.”

If we use Mr. Bedore’s definition of being a “liar” because Mr. Williams decided to change his mind, I would suggest we include as liars our governor, the state legislators, the U.S. Congress and the president of the United States.

Under his narrow definition, we all fall into that, including the staff and publisher of the Journal-World.

Mr. Williams did everything we asked him to do and much more.

Kansas University, Lawrence, the state of Kansas and all the great fans should feel fortunate Mr. Williams passed this way.
