Dave Nuzum

Dave Roger Nuzum, 69, of Lawrence, Kansas, died October 25, 2026, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, with family and friends around him. He was born September 6, 1957, in Falls City, Nebraska, to Leonard and Catherine (Steele) Nuzum. He graduated from Lake Havasu High School in Arizona in 1975.

Over more than 15 years at the White Cloud Hog Farm, Dave rose from novice to farm manager. He then worked for Farm Bureau Insurance. Known as ‘Uncle Dave’ and ‘Bear,’ he had a kind soul and a unique laugh that could fill any room. He loved catfishing on the Missouri River, hunting mushrooms, poker and a good story. He also played Taps on the trumpet at many memorial services.

He is survived by his brother, Ed Nuzum (Patricia), of Boise, Idaho, and his sister, Rebecca ‘Becky’ Livengood, of Giddings, Texas. He also leaves behind nine nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Beth, his parents, and his brother Gary.
