Mary Brubaker

Mary Della Brubaker, 91, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Neuvant House in Lawrence, Kansas.

Mary Della was born on January 11, 1935, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to Joseph Harrison and Ila Rae (Barker) Cartmill. Her brother, Joe Wayne Cartmill, is deceased. Her younger brother Troy Cartmill resides in Lubbock, Texas. Mary Della was married for 63 years to Darrel Brubaker (deceased). She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mary Della was a Christian of strong faith. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Daniel) Flynn and Anjanette (Douglas) Wilhelm. She had four grandchildren, Emily (Craig) Baumiller, Mary (Nelson) Sousa, Nathaniel (Rebecca) Wilhelm, Olivia Wilhelm, and five great grandchildren: Ryan and Grant Baumiller, Mark and Allison Sousa, and Nolan Wilhelm.

A private memorial service will take place May 28, 2026, at Warren McElwain Funeral home in Lawrence, Kansas.
