Donna Cumley

Donna Lou (DeGraffenreid) Cumley, 80, of Baldwin City, KS died Saturday, August 8, 2026 in DeSoto, KS at the Hillside Village Nursing Home. She was born on October 30, 1945 in Eureka, KS, the daughter of Tess Eric and Lida Ferne (Cooper) DeGraffenreid.

Donna was a resident of Baldwin City since 1953 and leaves behind many friends in the area. She worked as a paralegal for a number of years and later as a clerk for the Lawrence, KS police department. Donna was a champion of all frogs and turtles and a friend to all her neighborhood cats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Cumley.

She is survived by loving family: two sisters, JoAnne DeGraffenreid (John Davis), of Baldwin City and Kathy DeGraffenreid (Gary) Perkins of Cincinnati, Ohio; one niece, Kary Perkins (Stan) Schmale, three nephews, Jimmy Perkins, Kyle (Hadley Aponte-Good) Perkins and Tom (Sheri Holmes) Kellogg; two great-nephews, Jacob Schmale and Cameron Schmale, a host of cousins, and by her devoted stepsons, Micheal (Julie) Eastland and family and Joshua (Kendra) Cumley and family. She will be missed. RIP, Donna.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, October 24, 2026 at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 712 9th Street, Baldwin City, KS. Internment of the cremated remains will be held privately by the family at the Oakwood Cemetery in Baldwin City.
