Jack Hill
Mass of Christian Burial for Jack Eugene Hill, 98, Lawrence will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2026, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A Prayer Service will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a visitation to follow until 7 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Private burial will take place at a later date in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Jack passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Hope Senior Living in Lawrence.
Jack was born March 17, 1928, in Topeka, KS, the son of Claudia and Noah Parr. Jack was an only child.
Jack lived in San Francisco for five years and while there Jack graduated from High School and worked part time at Tech Fishery.
He married Julia ‘Judy’ Ice on June 11, 1945, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence.
Jack had four children: Mike (Lolita) Hill, Pat Shultz, Marti (Mike) Frost and Tim (Patty) Hill; eleven grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren with one more coming in September. Jack and Judy were married for 71 years.
Jack worked for Stokley Van Camp for 31 years. He retired in 1983 and spent the winters in McAllen, Texas for 13 years and 4 years full time. He also worked for Capitol Federal Bank for 10+ years as an ATM Clerk. His hobby was recording music from the 30's and 40'S. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and a past Knights of Columbus member.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hope Senior Living and VNA Hospice for the care that was given to Jack.
The family suggests memorials to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or to Kansas Talking Books and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
