Larry Brock
Larry J Brock, 82, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2026. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was loved, respected, and cherished by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
Larry was born in Roosevelt, OK, to parents J.P. and Velma Brock. The family moved to Wichita, KS, where he attended Wichita East High School, and then Wichita State University night school while climbing electric lines during the day and night for KG&E and continued working for utility companies at various executive positions until his retirement. During his grueling work and school schedule, he ‘occasionally’ found time to play a game of pool, cards, and golf. Of which he taught important life lessons to his sons, and some of their unlucky friends, later in life. There are stories still being told where Larry was heard saying, ‘don't forget to bring your lawn-mowing money.’
He married Iverne (Ivy) Goff and had two sons Adam and Cory. He lived with them in Valley Center, KS before moving to Lawrence, KS, and then moved with his wife to Texas after retirement later in life.
After losing his wife Ivy in February, Larry is survived by his two sons Adam and Cory, his daughter-in-law Sarah, his beloved grandchildren Owen, Sayla, Henry, Louisa, his sisters Florence, Virginia, Sandy, and many nieces and nephews. Larry is preceded into the afterlife by his wife, brother Bill and his parents.
The funeral is open to friends and family and is also a celebration of his wife Ivy.
The family requests that in lieu of sending flowers, please donate to the American Stroke Association or the Alzheimer's Association.
The family thanks you and asks that you share this memorial with anyone that was touched by Larry and Ivy's lives. God bless.
