Marclyn Woolsey
Marclyn Jane Woolsey, 83, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed away on March 28, 2026, from health complications.
A celebration of life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at Alva Municipal Cemetery, 1698 Flynn St. in Alva, Oklahoma.
Marclyn was born to Lovena and Arthur Stamm on Nov. 10, 1942, in Anthony, Kansas, and grew up on a farm near Waldron, Kansas. The family later moved to Alva, Oklahoma.
She graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State in 1964, and used her degree in education to become a school teacher.
Marclyn was an avid quilter and participated in various quilting guilds. She also loved making things with her hands and spent hours studying her genealogy. She will be remembered as a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Her home was one of just a few to remain standing after a tornado tore through her town of Greensburg, Kansas, in 2007. She was also a breast cancer survivor.
She is preceded in death by her sisters Judy Neumeyer and Melva Paph, and her parents, Lovena and Arthur.
She is survived by her older sister Joyce (Jerry) Egner, her sons Robert (Lori) McLaughlin and Craig (Terri) McLaughlin, and her daughter Julie McLaughlin. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Maria (Aaron) Vajnar, Kenneth McLaughlin, Kaylie McLaughlin, Sarah (Matt) Meseke, Addison McLaughlin and Ella McLaughlin, and one great grandson, Matthew Vajnar.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Marclyn's memory can be sent to Gilda's Club Kansas City, a nonprofit part of the Cancer Support Community.
