Paul Alexander

Paul Franklin Alexander, age 70, of Baldwin City, KS died on October 5th, 2025 at KU Medical Center surrounded by his wife, Marsha and their children.

Paul was born on May 9th, 1955 in Lawrence, KS to Frank and Betty Alexander. Paul earned his Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of Kansas, and began working for the Federal Reserve shortly after graduation. In 1984, he entered the Patrol Academy and started his long-term career with the Kansas State Highway Patrol and eventually made a move to the Kansas Turnpike and became a Master Trooper. While on the patrol, Paul got to enjoy his 15 minutes of fame by participating in a reenactment of a police chase for the TV Series 'Cops'. He began having some heart issues in the spring of 2012, and retired with the patrol after 28 years. Since retiring, he has been working part-time at the local Lawrence Home Depot where he was presented with an award for Excellent Customer Service. Paul loved being outdoors, especially hunting, camping, and spending time on excursions with his dad and brother. He also enjoyed taking trips with his wife, Marsha, often heading to Branson for long weekends away. He did lawn care for many years and always seemed to be working on some project at home or for his family. He always was willing to go the extra mile to help others.

Paul married Marsha Kay(Andres) on May 6th, 1978, and just celebrated 47 years this past May. They have 4 sons: Rodney (Peggie) Jenkins of Topeka, Ks, John Jenkins of Auburn, Ks, Mark (Anna) Jenkins of Raymore, Mo, Craig (Kristi) Alexander of Lawrence, Ks, and 12 grandkids: Acea, Madison, Austin, Hayley, Alexis, Kyleigh, Carson, Conner, Chloe, Caleb, Lily, and Kara.

Paul Alexander was preceded in death by his father, Frank Alexander, in 2021.

Paul Alexander is survived by his wife Marsha, his mother Betty Alexander, his brother Pat (Teri) Alexander, sister Sharon Stumfoll, and all of his kids and grandkids.

A Funeral Service will take place at Warren-McElwain Mortuary; 120 W 13th St. Lawrence, KS 66044 on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation starting one hour prior. Graveside to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawrence.

Donations in Paul's memory may be given to Samaritan's Purse and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
