Martha Rose

Martha Lou (Lawrence) Rose, 92, of Lawrence Kansas, passed away on September 29th, 2025 at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.

Martha was born in Wellington, Kansas in 1932. The family lived for a while in Tonganoxie, before her father, George Lawrence, settled in Lawrence with his wife, Grace, and 3 daughters. Martha attended Lawrence High School and the University of Kansas before marrying Leslie Jack Rose in 1954. They had two daughters, Virginia (Ginny) and Leslie. Jack died in 2010.

Martha was a loving wife and mother, who raised her daughters and participated in many civic and social activities in Lawrence. She spent many years as a docent at the Spencer Art Museum, supporting the Girl Scouts, driving for the Bert Nash Center, doing flowers at First Presbyterian Church, and managing details for her University Women's Book Group.

A celebration of her life will take place at First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway, Lawrence at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
