Dennis Grover

Dennis G Grover passed away peacefully in Stuart, Florida on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born on November 19, 1951, in Lawrence, Kansas, the son of AD and Carolyn Grover. Upon his graduation of Lawrence High School, he enlisted in the Navy. He served 3 tours in Vietnam on the USS Turner Joy DD-951 and one tour on the USS Oklahoma City CLG-5 Flag of the Seventh Fleet; home ported in Japan. He received Combat Action Ribbons for both deployments and served the last tour of duty in San Diego at the Marimar Naval air station. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended KU and worked as a research assistant in Occupational Therapy and served in the Army Reserves. Dennis moved to New Orleans in 1976 to begin a career in hospitality management which included the Royal Sonesta, Hilton Hotel, and the Mississippi Queen. Dennis returned to Lawrence, to begin a career in Real Estate. He served as President of the Lawrence Board of Realtors and the Board of Directors for the Kansas State Realtors Assn. He was best known as the Town & Country Realtor. Dennis is survived by his wife Mary, and their two children Andrew and Megan and his siblings Michael and Linda. A special veteran memorial service for his wife and children will be planned for him on the USS Turner Joy DD-951in Bremerton, WA. A Celebration of Life will be held in Lawrence at a future date for family and friends. The family expresses their appreciation to the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center and the Treasure Coast Hospice of Stuart, FL for their support and care of Dennis.
