Charles Black

Charles Paul (Charlie) Black, 17, of Lawrence, passed away on June 10th. He was born to (and forever loved by) Roderick S. and Rebecca L. (Logue) Black on 07-11-07 who survive, of the home.

Charlie graduated from Lawrence High School on May 20th. He planned to study computer science at the University of Kansas School of Engineering as part of the Class of 2029. Current and pending artificial intelligence (AI) innovations engaged and motivated Charlie. He had much more to say about the technological march toward widespread applications of AI within the arts, sciences, and government.

Charlie loved the ocean-preferably with an associated sandy beach and boardwalk. He loved the skies-especially the eclipses, moon, and aurora borealis. He loved the soil-loved most of all to dig his tent stakes into the dirt of Bedford County, Pennsylvania. His affinity for long walks earned favoritism from Bear, the family Chihuahua. Charlie brought great joy to his loved ones, who were charmed by his observations about the natural world and engaged by his penchant for in-depth discussion of technical and philosophical problems.

Charlie leaves behind his loving older sister, Bonnie Katherine, of the home, grandparents Charles and Betty Logue of Indianapolis, Randy Hardy of Indianapolis, Eric Parsons of State College, Penna., uncle Keith Logue (Socorro) of Indianapolis, aunt Erica Parsons of State College, a great aunt, great uncle, and many cousins. Charlie was predeceased by grandparents Paul W. Black and Bonnie Scott (Black) Parsons, and great-grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held later this summer. Those wishing to honor Charlie's life are encouraged to complete a playthrough of Deltarune.
