Alan Pryor

Alan B. ‘Butch’ Pryor, 81, passed away on May 3, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas. Born August 17, 1943, in Mexico, Missouri, Alan lived a full and industrious life marked by dedication to his work, his country, and his passions.

Alan proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating his strong sense of duty and commitment. Following his military service, he built a long and respected career as a construction operator with Comanche Construction.

Alan had a deep appreciation for vintage and antique cars. He was an avid car collector and enthusiast who found joy in restoring classic vehicles and sharing that passion with others. He was active in car clubs, shows, and cruise nights, where he won many awards and trophies. His involvement in these communities brought him many lasting friendships and countless hours of fun, laughs, and enjoyment.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Pryor, who passed away in a car accident in 1998. Alan is survived by his daughter Tiffany Pryor; his sister Thelma Chapman; and many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

May the memory of Alan B. ‘Butch’ Pryor bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as a lasting tribute to a life well lived. A small Memorial Celebration will be held on June 12, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Tonganoxie Community Historical Society in The Reno Church, followed by a luncheon next door at Fairchild-Knox Barn, 201 W Washington in Tonganoxie.
