Ronald Miller

Graveside inurnment for Ronald (Ron) Leroy Miller, 86, Lawrence, KS, will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Stull Cemetery.

Ron passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at his residence.

Ron was born October 21, 1938, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Byron and Helen (Reka) Miller.

His family relocated to Topeka, KS where he attended Topeka High School.

Ron was drafted by the US Army on February 24, 1961. He was stationed at Fort Wolters, Mineral Wells TX with the 697th Engineer Co (PL) Fourth US Army and awarded the Gold Conduct Medal. He received an Honorable Discharge on August 9, 1963.

He married Janice Floyd on November 11, 1964, in Lawrence, KS, and she preceded him in death on February 8, 2023.

Ron worked for Farmland Industries, Lawrence Ks for more than 40 years retiring on October 31, 2000.

Ron had a gift for working with his hands and loved creating and repairing anything he could find. When he would take a break, you could find him in his chair with a pen and paper, creating beautiful doodles and drawings.

He loved his family and friends, traveling with his wife Jan to new places and keeping his lawn in pristine condition.

Survivors include his two sons, Roger A. Miller and wife Angela of Bedford, TX and Michael L. Miller and wife Brenda of Lawrence, KS; three granddaughters, Crystal Miller, Kaely Cain, Ashley Miller; five great-grandchildren, Noah Fannin , Hadley Cain, Kamryn Cain, Wrenley Cain, Karsyn Cain; and sister, Sandy Mueller.

Ron was also preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Steven Miller and granddaughter, Tiffany Miller.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Ron's name to Tunnel to Towers and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
