Margrete Hartman

No services planned for Margrete Laverne ‘Martie’ Hartman, 98, Lawrence, who died Wednesday, Oct. 30th, 2024, at her home. She was cremated.

She was born July 4, 1926, in Newton, the youngest child of Gustav D and Grete (Janzen) Schroeder.

Mrs. Hartman graduated Newton high school in 1944 and attended Kansas University.

She married Herbert Arthur Hartman on August 12, 1946, in Newton. He died Dec 9, 1993.

Mrs. Hartman, a housewife and mother, lived in Lawrence since 1966.

Survivors include 3 of her 4 sons: Herbert Jr, Robert, and Gilbert; 1 of her 3 daughters: Barbara; her grandchildren: April, Herbert III, Maxwell, Nicole, Elizabeth, and Terry; her great-grandchildren: Molly, Anna, Bennett, Felix, and Clara.

Rumsey Funeral Home, Lawrence, handled arrangements.
