Dennis ‘Denny’ R Powers passed away 06-24-2024 at home.

Funeral Services will be at 02:00 pm Friday July 5, 2024 at the Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie, KS. The family will receive friends for visitation at 01:00 pm. Burial will follow at Hubbel Hill Cemetery in Tonganoxie, KS.

Denny was born 11-28-1948 in Toledo Ohio, the son of Denver and Phyllis (Pemberton) Powers. Denny worked in retail sales as manager of Gibson's Discount Center in Lawrence and Olathe, at Sacs in Olathe, KS. Denny also worked at Dillon's Stores in Lawrence, KS until his retirement in 2009. Denny attended Community Colleges in Michigan and received a master's degree at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. Denny received degrees in English and History. Denny was a proud member of Mensa.

Denny married Beth Quinlan on 02-14-1985 and she survives of the home. Other survivors include a sister Jenny Powers Lambertville, MI; Sister in law and Brother in Law Ann and Dale Martens, Parkville, MO; and brother in law Bill Quinlan, Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews.

Denny loved and was an avid reader of various books, especially the Bible, enjoyed classical music, and enjoyed spending time with his wife. Denny enjoyed being outside and interacting with and feeding the various creatures that visited the home, squirrels, raccoons, birds, possums.
