Wanda Wood
Wanda Joe Wood, a faithful servant of Christ, was called home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2024. Born on January 20, 1933, in Windsor, MO to George and Lillian Bilbruck, Wanda resided in Calhoun, MO for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, whose life exemplified her deep love for her family. Wanda and her first husband shared Jerry Joe Wallace, Terry Wallace, Thelma Harmon and Kenneth Wallace. Later, she married her loving husband Bill Wood, with whom she shared Teresa Bowman, Donna Cecena, and Billy Atwood. They later shared two more children, Julie Carole Embrey and Christie Jeanne Wood. In Raytown, MO, Wanda served at KC Baptist Temple and owned Wood's Ceramics. Retiring in 1993, Wanda and Bill moved to Shell Knob, MO where she enjoyed reading her Bible, playing piano, teaching Sunday School and sewing teddy bears for local hospitals. In 2015, they moved to Lawrence, KS to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Wanda is survived by her husband Bill; her children Kenneth Wallace, Julie Embrey, Christie Wood, Teresa Bowman (Terry), Donna Cecena (Anthony) and Billy Atwood; 72 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her children Jerry Joe, Thelma (Mel) and Terry; her brother Jim Bilbruck (Shirley); and her parents George and Lillian Bilbruck. A memorial service will be held at Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, June 14, 2024, 1410 Dzf Rd, Clinton, MO 64735 with visitation from 12-1, service at 1 and burial to follow in Calhoun, MO.
