Kris Bailey

Kris Dawson Bailey, 62, of Lawrence, Kansas, passed into rest January 28, 2024. Kris was a thoughtful man, kind to his friends and loving to his family. He attended the University of Kansas in 1979 and found a home in Lawrence. Known as Joe Kansas he sang with the band the Lonesome Houndogs and loved entertaining the crowds at local bars and festivals. He loved playing pool, having spirited discussions and was a loyal Jayhawk fan. Kris leaves behind his partner and best friend Pam Harrell and family, brother Chip and family, Son Kraig and family, dogs Eddie, Teco, Bella and oh so many friends!!! Please shed a tear if you must, but he would prefer that you remember him with a smile and move on with love and kindness for others. This statement reflects the brother I knew. Chip Bailey.
