Charles Banning

Charles ‘Warren’ Banning, 98, of Lawrence, KS, died October 4 after a short illness. He was born in Lawrence, KS, and except for his time in the U.S. Army in 1951 – 1953, spending time in GA. and Japan, he lived in Douglas County. He owned many businesses in Lawrence. Bigsby-Banning Farm Equipment, Banning Oil, Banning Christmas Tree Farm, Banning Liquor Store, Snappy Gas Station, Banning Ice and Banning Sales & Service. He enjoyed a lifetime of family, friends, and business acquaintances.

Proceeding him was his wife LaVesta. He is survived by his daughter Nancy Amison of Chesapeake, VA, son Bruce Banning of Lawrence, KS, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The family will have a Graveside service on October 27 at 3:00 p.m. at the Washington Creek Cemetery, 607 E. 550 Rd Lone Star. A Celebration of Life will be immediately following.
