Kelle Fritzel
April 14, 1963 – April 21, 2023
Kelle Sue Fritzel passed away on Friday, April 21st, 2023 at her beloved home just one week following the celebration of her 60th birthday.
Kelle is survived by many family and friends committed to honoring her memory, including sister, Leslie; sons Jacob, Josh, Curtis and Mike; daughters-in-law Amanda and Sasha; granddaughter Angel; great-grandchildren Rylee and Hunter; and many treasured pets including dogs Chigger and Dorkus. Kelle was preceded in death by parents Merle and Elizabeth, brother David, sister Lisa, and loving husband Ben. Kelle found great love and companionship during her life with Ben, and her family is deeply comforted knowing they are together once again.
Kelle was born and raised in Lawrence, and settled in Baldwin to raise her family after spending several years living in the Mountain West across Montana, Idaho and Wyoming. She cherished time spent with family and friends, and was an exceedingly generous and forgiving person who believed in seeing the good in everyone. Kelle made an indelible impact on the lives of countless family and friends, and will be remembered for her warmth and her effervescent spirit. Her proudest achievement was raising her sons to lead their lives with abundant compassion and empathy.
A service is planned for Sunday, May 7 at Christ Community Church in Lawrence, with visitation at 2:00pm followed by a memorial at 3:00pm. As a life-long animal lover, donations to honor Kelle's memory may be made to the Lawrence Humane Society.
‘To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.’
