Earl Bahnmaier

Earl Leon Bahnmaier 93, of Lawrence/Lecompton, KS passed away on December 3, 2023. He was born in Lawrence, KS on May 21, 1930, to parents William (Bill) and Ellen Bahnmaier. He served in the Korean War in the Army. Following his service, he attended The University of Kansas where he earned a B.S. in Geology. On August 26,1954 Earl married the apple of his eye, Alice Marie Harwood of McLouth, KS. Earl was a resolute employee of Texaco Inc in south Louisiana (Houma, New Orleans). His career took him and his family to London, England for several years and then back to New Orleans, LA.

Earl retired from Texaco after 25 years of employment. He enjoyed being a farmer, landlord and community servant. Earl offered his services to the local elementary school reading and helping in any way he could. He was involved in the Lecompton Masonic Lodge and the Grand Lodge in Topeka supporting the Shriners. He volunteered his time to the Triangle Fraternity at KU for several years and worked with the Geological Survey at KU.

Earl is survived by his wife Marie and son Bill and his wife Terry, brother Carl; widowed daughter-in-law Becky Bahnmaier of deceased son Donald Bahnmaier. Grandchildren: Aaron Bahnmaier, Lesleigh Bahnmaier Monsey, Cory Bahnmaier, Nate Bahnmaier. Great grandchildren: Lilith, Everleigh, Riley, Vivi Anne, Thatcher and Delaney.

Memorial service will be held at Lecompton UMC, in Lecompton, KS. January 6, 2024 at 1:00 pm. The family request that in lieu of cards, flowers or other items please donate to your favorite charity in Earl's name.
