Candace Malson
Candace Ann Malson, age 70, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. She was born May 20, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Chester and Dolores Rose (Derengowski) Malanowski.
On February 2, 1990, in Antioch, Illinois, she was united in marriage to her husband, Robert Malson.
At the age of 35, Candace made the decision to pursue a career in nursing. She received bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from the Arizona State Nursing Program and went on to obtain her doctorate in nursing becoming a nurse practitioner from Western University of Health Science. Candace was currently working as a nurse practitioner for Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach.
She was an active member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, served on the Westside Chamber of Commerce board and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Candace enjoyed spending time square and round dancing, traveling and was gifted with a beautiful singing voice.
In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by her children, Kimberly Ivonne Thibodeaux and husband Dwight, Trisha Lynn Simons and husband Dan, Michael David Malson and wife Anja, Christopher Andrew Gentleman and wife Dana, Kristin Rose Conklin and husband Tom and Daniel Robert Gentleman and fiancée Allison; grandchildren, Briahn Marie Simons, Dan Counseller Simons, Nicholas Mcvickar, Sydnie Conklin and Kody Ray Hatfield; brothers, Steven Malanowski and Thomas Malanowski and wife Linda and many other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Joseph Gentleman and son, David Christopher Malson.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 7th, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Laurie with Father John Schmitz celebrating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., Monday at the church with a rosary prayed at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment will be held at a later date in St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, https://phassociation.org/Donate or the National Shrine of Mary, Mother of the Church.
