Beric Lynch
Beric Christopher Lynch, of Yates Center, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2023, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, KS. He was 60 years old. Beric was born November 5, 1962, in Kansas City, Kansas to Gerald Norbert and MaryAnn (Swinford) Lynch. He grew up in rural Leavenworth, Kansas on the family farm. Beric married Shirl K. Wulff in 1986. They later divorced. Beric is survived by his girlfriend Valerie Gilmore; two daughters; Rachael (Jacob) Morrison of Yates Center, and Hope (Jacob) Scott of Lawrence; siblings Debbie Gaddie of Longmont, Colorado, Jeannie (Johnny) Cash of Leavenworth, Pat (Brenda) Lynch and Dan (Cindy) Lynch both of Tonganoxie, Kansas. Beric, known as ‘PaPa,’ has 5 grandchildren; Adison, Blake, Declan, Ryker, and Rimi. He has numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends whom he loved dearly and will miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Norbert and MaryAnn, brothers; Maurice and Steve, and sisters; Sandy and Mary Diane.
Beric spent his life working hard and playing just as hard. He worked as a manager for Save-A-Lot in Chanute, Kansas; as a butcher at Self-Service for his brother Pat, and recently as maintenance supervisor at Russell Stover in Iola, Kansas for over 20 years. He was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone who may have needed it. Beric spent these last months buying and working on cars and his camper, something he enjoyed the most. He spent his summers with family and friends, either fishing and camping or drinking a cold beer and listening to music. He was always smiling and giving someone a hard time. Beric's laugh and smile was contagious, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is scheduled for April 29, 2023 at Noon at the Light Hardware Building in Yates Center, Kansas.
