Antonette Brecheisen

A Celebration of Life service for Antonette Louise Brecheisen, 92, Eudora, will be held at 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2022 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary – Eudora Chapel in Eudora, KS. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date in St. John Cemetery in Worden, KS. Antonette passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at her home.

Antonette was born on May 4, 1929 in Worden, KS, the daughter of Carl and Amalie (Haas) Plambeck.  She went to attended Central Rural School, and later graduated from Lawrence High School.

She married Lloyd Brecheisen on October 26, 1952, and they moved to the farm in rural Eudora.  He preceded her in death on March 10, 1986.

She started working in healthcare at the Baldwin Clinic, then worked at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Presbyterian Manor, and Eudora Care Center.  She loved her family, pets, music, flowers and gardening.  She was passionate on the importance of reading, and helped establish the Eudora Public Library.  She also gave of her time in multiple ways; as Community Leader of the Eudora 4-H Club, volunteering at LMH and Hospice, as well as playing piano at local care facilities.   She was a member of the Eudora and Douglas County Historical Societies, and helped preserve the family history.

She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Worden, KS.

Survivors include her son, Mark (Narji) Brecheisen, Eudora; daughter, Dr. Nancy L. Brecheisen (Dr. Scott McGuire), St. Joseph, MO; one granddaughter, Bethany (Johnothan) Cluck, Eudora; four great grandchildren, Tristen, Ryan Ann, Jeromy, Piper; and one great-great grandson, Ryan.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Elisabeth Plambeck and grandson, Ryan David Brecheisen.

Memorial contributions may be made in Antonette's name to Eudora Public Library and may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th Street, Lawrence, KS 66044.
