Kenneth Spurling

Funeral services for Kenneth ‘Ken’ Leroy Spurling, 77, Lawrence will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Burial will follow at Clinton Cemetery. Ken passed away on August 14, 2021 at his home.

Ken was born on October 31, 1943 the son of Elbert and Ruby (Mallory) Spurling.

He was a maintenance worker for Westar Energy for 40 years. He served in the National Guard.

Ken married Diane Marie Martin on May 30, 1976 in Lawrence, KS. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include his two sons, Troy Spurling, Lawrence, Kevin Spurling, Eudora; twin-brothers, Earl Spurling, Liberal, MO, Merl Spurling, Grantville, KS; sister, Betty Reagan, Pittsburg, KS; three grandchildren, Travis Spurling, Kansas City, MO, Devyn Spurling, Eudora, Morgan Clark; one great-granddaughter, Dallis Doty. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Spurling and son, Paul Martin.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
