Theodore Wiklund

Theodore "Pete" Wiklund III passed away peacefully on September 7, 2018, at Santa Rosa (CA) Memorial Hospital after a tragic fall.

Pete (son of Mildred Condict and Theodore Wiklund Jr.) was born in 1942 and grew up in Prairie Village, Kansas. He attended the University of Kansas and graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City Dental School. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army for five years, including tours in Viet Nam and Germany.

Pete started his dental practice in Lawrence and built it into a successful business over 45 years. He served generations of patients and mentored young dentists. Pete was active with the Lawrence Arts Commission, Rotary Club and many local political campaigns. Pete’s culinary skills were well known to those fortunate enough to sit at his table. He and his wife of 54 years, Ann, retired to Sonoma, California, where they continued passions for cooking, wine and world travel. Pete was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

Pete is survived by his wife Ann Fothergill Wiklund; son Bob Wiklund (Carrie) of Nashville, TN; grandson Theo Wiklund of Lawrence; granddaughter Josie Wiklund of Philadelphia, PA; and brother Rich Wiklund (Sara) of Cudjoe Key, FL.

A celebration of Pete’s life will be held on October 5, 2018, from 5 to 7 pm, at the Lawrence Arts Center (940 New Hampshire), with remarks at 5:30.
