Martin Hooper Henry ‘Mutt’

Martin Hooper Henry, “Mutt”, 87, of Lawrence, Kansas passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Sunrise of Fair Oaks in Fairfax, Virginia.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway, in Lawrence, Kansas. Private inurnment at Pioneer Cemetery in Lawrence, Kansas will be on December 8th.
Mutt was born September 20, 1928 in Mt. Zion Township, Illinois, the son of Walter Reeves Henry and Beryl (Hooper) Henry. He married Jeanette Mae Hambrecht of Argenta, Illinois on December 9, 1950. She passed away on January 27, 2004. He attended Milliken University and the University of Kansas. He served as a Naval Aviator for 24 years retiring as a Commander. He and Jeanette moved to Lawrence from Naples, Italy in 1972. He then enjoyed a second career with the Kansas University Endowment Association, retiring as Senior Vice President for Property Management in 1994. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his children Janet Hodges, Philip Henry and Stephen Henry; his brother David R. Henry; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Richard and Robert.
