Alice Jane Jeffress

A visitation for Alice Jane Jeffress, 73, Baldwin City will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. She died Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at her home.
Alice was born July 30, 1940 in Monett, MO the daughter of Clarence and Stella (Blair) Roller.
She has lived in the Lawrence area since 1980.
She was a scanner for Allen Press in Lawrence for almost 15 years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Olathe and a past president of Lawrence Women’s Bowling Association and works with Youth Bowling of Lawrence.
She married William L. “Bill” Jeffress on June 30, 1967 in Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death May 21, 2000.
Survivors include one daughter, Deborah J. Angleton, Wichita; William Scott Jeffress, Baldwin City; four grandsons, Christopher Jeffress, Stephen Jeffress, Jeffrey Clark, Justin Clark; two brothers, Emer L. Roller, Osawatomie, KS, Bobby Roller, Tulsa, OK; and two sisters, Bonnie LaGalle, Iola, KS, and Mildred Nevinski, Detroit, MI. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Roller; and a sister Marie Linsen.
The family suggests memorials in her name to LYABA (Lawrence Youth Amateur Bowling Association) and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
